Czechoslovakian Wolfdog Overview


This is a  relatively new dog breed. The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog was developed by the crossing  the German Shepherd dog with a Carpathian Wolf. This dog breed was originally used for military duty, and today is used as a reliable guard and defense dog. They are quite rare.

This dog breed has the appearance of a wolf more than a dog. The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog is powerful, agile and built for speed. This dog breed has grace combined with ferocity. The breed is completely fearless and extremely brave.

This dog breed is not suitable for inexperienced or first time dog owners. The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog is also not suitable for homes with children or other pets. The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog is are highly protective of their home and territory. This dog breed is highly independent, energetic and active. This dog breed requires a fair amount of grooming and special attention should be given to the coat during heavy shedding. Bathing is rarely required as the coat is relatively self-cleaning. There are no known health issues associated with the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog, but this could be due to the rarity of the breed. This breed is best suited to colder climates.

Intense ongoing socialization and obedience training is essential for the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog. This dog breed does best with short and varied training sessions to prevent boredom. It is vital that training be performed with respect, firmness, fairness, patience and consistency.

This dog breed is not suited to apartment or city living. The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog requires and above average amount of exercise and is best suited to a rural environment where there is ample room to run and roam and a property to guard.
